June Highlights
June is when most tourists would be gone and the island would look so serene and empty. Due to occasional rains, the temperature is often pushed down to comfortable limits. But the humidity remains quite high during the day time.
Although it may rain at times (mostly in the evenings and at nights), you get enough sunshine during the day time. When the sky is clear, during the day it can be quite hot outside. However all tours, boat tours and cruises continue to operate. This is when the operators start offering good discounts due to lack of demand. So it's a great opportunity for tourists to get heavy discounts not only on tours, but also on hotel tariffs, car rentals etc and at the same time enjoy a reasonably good weather. It's a great time for all water sports.
Fire Extinguishing Contest is held in the island which is organized by the fire department. There is a competition between teams from the fire department and locals on how quickly set fire can be put out.
Langkawi Food and Fruit Fiesta is also held towards the end of this month. This is when visitors and locals can go and savor a wide range of exotic local & western cuisine as well as many different fruits grown in the island. After tasting, you can also buy any item you like.
