Langkawi weather in April

April Highlights

April is when the number of tourists in Langkawi starts thinning out. This is because this marks the end of the dry period (or the peak season). The mid season starts in April when there may be occasional showers.

But the weather is still good enough to retain enough tourists in the island and hotel rates continue to be high. It remains quite warm and the humidity continues to rise. The day time temperature can shoot to 34°C while the humidity level can cross 93°.

So if you are out in the sun for long, it can be quite uncomfortable, unless of course you are swimming, snorkeling or diving in the warm waters. This time is ideal for such water sports. There may be short showers at times, but mostly in late afternoons or at nights. The tours, day cruises and excursions continue to operate in full swing while the ocean remains calm.

April is the month when the Langkawi International Festival of Art (LIFA) is held in the island. It takes place over 10 days at the Ibrahim Hussein Museum & Cultural Foundation. Artists & artisans from all over the world participate in artwork, dance, sculpture making and other cultural events.
