Langkawi Itineraries - Part III

Hi Raj,

I am going to visit Langkawi in Feb 2015 with my friend. We are arriving Langkawi on 4th Feb (2:50 PM) & departing on 8th Feb (5:45 PM). We would prefer to visit as many places as possible. I have planned the following. Could you please have a look & provide your suggestion on the same? It would be great if you point what else we can cover? We are planning to cover the island on a two wheeler.

4/2:Reach Langkawi Hotel @ 4:00 PM. Visit Cenang Beach, nearby places & shopping.

5/2:
Seven Wells (Telega Tuluj) Waterfalls-- walk, Cable Card Ride, Eagle watching @ Mount Machincang, Oriental Village,  Dataran Lang (Eagle Square), Pasir Tengkorak Beach

6/2:
Pulau Payar Marine Park -- whole day trip for Snorkelling & diving. Atma Alam Batik Village, Visit Tengah Beach.

7/2:
Underwater World, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park & Mangrove Tour, Kota Mahsuri, Air Hangat Village, Craft Cultural Complex. Can we visit?

8/2:
Leave hotel @ 3:00 PM for Airport. Prior to this, visit following places: Reach the Teluk Baru jetty in Pantai Tengah by 9am and take the island hopping tour. Should be back by 1/2 pm.

Is it possible to add the below mentioned places? Temurun Waterfalls, Durian Perangin Waterfall, The Golf Club Datai Bay

Hi,

Watch out for the sequence. For example, from oriental village you should go to Datai area for Pasir Tengkorak and also cover Temurun falls in Datai before heading for Eagle Square at Kuah. The Golf Club at Datai Bay is now ELS Golf Course (it's newly redesigned and renovated). You can not enter unless you book T-time and play a round of golf. A proper Geopark/Mangrove tour takes almost a full day (you will return by around 4pm). You can however take a shorter tour from Kilim jetty. If you take the shorter tour (start by 9am), you can cover Durian Perangin falls and few other places like Mahsuri's tomb, Air Hangat Village, Craft Complex which is opposite shark bay beach etc.

Hi!

I am so happy that you are willing to help. We are a group of 7 students departing from KL to LGK on 9th Jan. evening. We want a combination of sightseeing and adventure sports. As per your previous posts, this is what we thought could be our plan from 9th January till 13th (leaving afternoon).

9th- arrive late evening. Check in to hotel and relax.
10th- Go to beach and enjoy jet skiing, para sailing, and other activities. Spend evening around beach area.
11th- Go Underwater world- Pulau marine park - for scuba diving and sightseeing.
12th- Go island hopping and Mangrove geo park and cable car. night- do shopping in kuah.
13th- wake up- relax- checkout- go to airport.

Do you think we can include few more things in our plan like eagle square, wildlife park and so on? Is this plan practical enough for us? Thanks.

Hi,

Your plan needs changes. On 10th, visit Underwater World as well. 11th - Pulau Payar Marine Park (almost full day starting from Kuah), come back, visit Eagle Square and do some shopping at Kuah town. 12th - visit Kilim jetty in the morning and take a short (2 hour) tour of Geopark/Mangroves, then head for cable car, after ride go around Oriental village (same place), take lunch and then if time permits go for Island Hopping (last tour at 4pm from Pantai Tengah jetty).

Regards,

Hi,

Your itinerary is mostly possible and a good one. Note a few points:

Day1: You may need to adjust the timings as you go along. For example 15 minutes from Kuah jetty to Underwater world including buying entry tickets etc is not practical. In Pantai Cenang, visit the beach, do some watersports like jet ski etc if you like, stroll along the road, walk down to Laman Padi. Seven Wells waterfall will take 2-3 hours if you want to go up to the top and spend some time there. So adjust your time accordingly. No need to plan Shark Bay beach on this day.

Day2: From Black Sand beach, visit nearby shark bay beach, opposite to that is Craft Complex and Faizy Crystal glass blowing studio.

Rest is fine. No restaurant at Crocodile Farm.

Hi,

You have made a nice itinerary. Good job. Joe's chicken is one of the best if you are specifically looking for Hainanese preparation of chicken rice. For traditional Malay breakfast you can try out Restoran Siti Fatimah near Kuah.

Otherwise you can also try Water Garden Hawker Center. You will find details of it in this link

Hi,

You have made a nice itinerary. You can consider Malibest Resort (on beach chalet) or Best Star Resort for your budget. Visit their websites before you take a call. They don't offer much services though. Good rooms with decent amenities. It's the location! Your return flight should be ideally after 3pm. Ensure that your day-4 is not a Wednesday because cable car starts late. You should be there by 9:30am.

Hi, itinerary is okay. You should visit a few beaches on the last day (Pantai Cenang, Tanjung Rhu etc) or alternatively visit Langkawi Wildlife Park/Makam Mahsuri/Air Hangat Village etc. It can get very hot during the day time. So start early for the beaches.
